PATAGONIA NATIONAL PARK JEINIMENI LAKE
From Chile Chico, 60 Km to the south, you can find the entrance to the Patagonia National Park –Jeinimeni Lake.
It is a camping and recreational area which allows you to appreciate the Patagonian forest, next to an emerald lake of glacial origin, as well as the drain that gives rise to the Jeinimeni River.
The road is already an attraction, bordering the Jeinimeni River. You will notice the transition from the steppe to the Patagonian forest.
It passes through a protected wetland called the Flamengos Lagoon, with a viewpoint to appreciate numerous birds.
If you want to relax and visit the place just for the day. It is possible to make several walks to different viewpoints, ride a bicycle or fish in the surroundings of the campsite. There is a second camp site, more quiet in a beautiful spot in front of Lago Verde, known as Raleigh. To reach it, you need to hike around 3 hours from the entrance.
If you want want an intense activity. It is possible to hike to “Mirador del Valle Hermoso”, in La Gloria Pass. Maybe the highlight of this sector. You will need to camp in the area or leave Chile Chico early in the morging. This hike is going to be intense, wading a couple of rivers in a long day walk. But it worth for sure!
In short: Patagonian forest next to a glacier lake with spectacular views, where you can pith your tent, explore and live several adventures.
